What makes us unique
Marcelo was born in Rio, and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in São Paulo. It all started while still a teenager, when Marcelo founded a BBS (Bulletin Board System), a web predecessor. After being accepted at Babson College’s top-ranked entrepreneurship program, Marcelo left his country to study abroad, but a year later he was back, motivated by a strong desire to build the ideal model of a truly Brazilian company. Together with his schoolmates, Walter and Phillip, he founded Predicta in 1999, an online marketing company established today as one of the main players in the segment in Latin America. Since then Marcelo has been working in digital communication and helping to establish the standards of the Internet industry in Brazil.
CIO (CHIEF INNOVATION OFFICER)
One of the founders of Predicta along with his close friends, Marcelo and Walter, Phillip is the tech brain in this power trio. Phillip holds a Bachelor of Science in Management – Marketing & Finance from Tulane University, has taught on the online course in web analytics of the Canadian University of British Columbia (UBC) and is endorsed by the Web Analytics Association.
COO (CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER)
The business and strategic vision that enables Predicta’s success, Walter has both a Bachelor in Business Administration and MBA both from IBMEC-RJ. Walter is the company’s COO and plays a main role insuring the quality of Predicta’s services and client’s satisfaction. Prior to serving as COO, he spent many years as Predicta’s CFO. In the old days, Walter also created a BBS like Marcelo, fueling his passion for and advancement of the Brazilian Internet industry.

SiteApps is the first marketplace of web apps that can be installed with one click to address areas of improvement identified by Google Analytics assessments. SiteApps puts your website analytics under the microscope, then provides recommendations that address problems and tap into your site’s full potential. The web app marketplace is a growing collection of tools, ranging from social media widgets to payment widgets, that solve business problems and that require no technical knowledge to add to a website. The applications can also be targeted to specific visitors for a certain duration, further personalizing the website. SiteApps continuously reviews the analytics data, tracking the effectiveness of the installed apps and making ongoing recommendations. And it’s specifically for SMBs, many of whom cannot understand how to act on their Google Analytics data, or simply can’t afford to bring in consultants to help them through that process.
Is to reinvent the relationship between a company and its website. To be indispensable to websites – the destination for companies to learn, discuss and select tools and methodologies that will enhance their website. And to also be the standard website marketing platform – the “iTunes” for website applications. To create an ecosystem for website enhancement by making it simple to install and also develop “apps.”
Companies rely more and more on gated platforms such as Facebook or Google+ to provide consumers with dynamic, up-to-date information. However, 90 percent of customers go to a company’s website first to research products and services, not a company’s Facebook page.
One of our most popular and useful applications are the social media widgets. These are much more sophisticated than what you can currently do with the social plugins that Facebook and Twitter offer. One of the apps is a Twitter search feed – it’s perfect for events and conferences, and you can segment the widget to only appear on the website during that specific time frame, or to only certain visitors to the website. Another app is an image switcher. It offers an instant refresh to a web page. Additionally, it can be segmented to display different photos for different visitors to the site.
For ecommerce sites, we have payment apps. There are apps that also give businesses the opportunity to offer deals to visitors that are coming to the site from specific locations – or even based on their purchasing history. It allows for a very targeted, effective approach to online marketing.
The pool of apps is continuously growing. Any developer can create and distribute an app via the SiteApps marketplace.
History: Predicta's Path
Conquering Brazil’s World of Technology
Predicta was founded in 1999 by three close friends and was one of the first internet startups in Brazil. Predicta saw the need for an ad network and quickly developed an ad server with a focus on analytics. By 2009, Predicta had the leadership on the market share on the ad server with innovative analytics technology driving the widespread adoption. As new ad networks emerged, such as Google’s DoubleClick, Predicta began focusing more on analytics and customer segmentation.
Expanding Out of Brazil
BTBuckets launched in 2008 with sights on delivering a free personalization and on-site behavioral targeting tool. It quickly became one of the most advanced tools for websites to be able to segment their visitors according to their online habits and then direct targeted content to them in real time. Within a few short years, BTBuckets attracted 10,000 domains in more than 100 countries. As more and more companies adopted the platform, many of them were finding it challenging to create direct targeted content. SiteApps was formed with the idea of creating a marketplace for website applications that could be installed with one click. Because of its increasing work with blue-chip companies, Predicta established a high-level consultancy unit to help those clients achieve their online goals on the fast-changing online scenario.
Conquering the Digital Marketing World with SiteApps
In 2011, we received our first round of funding from Grupo RBS, the second largest media holding group in Brazil. In October 2012 as an extension of the digital business unit, RBS Group created e.Bricks. e.Bricks makes strategic investments in innovative, leading companies that are rapidly growing and managed by excellent entrepreneurs. It invests in three main sectors: segmented e-commerce, mobile and digital media and technology.
BTBuckets has evolved and is now a part of SiteApps, combining the powerful segmentation engine with easy-to-install apps. Predicta is opening operations in San Francisco to launch the new platform with the vision of reinventing the relationship between a company and its website.
